Contracts
Our contracts with China and Iran were keys to acquiring the materials necessary to create a quality Hab. Even if the terms were not easy to fulfill, doing what the other counties wanted was what we had to do to get contracts signed.

China
We got a a beach ball from China in exchange for labor, website recognition, no negotiations with India, and no transferable items.
Iran
We received 10 feet of duct tape from Iran, the beach ball and duct tape combined to making a solid, airtight Hab. We got duct tape in exchange for manual labor, dark chocolate, 15% profit, and a NC State flag on the rocket.
Hab Design and Contracts
Some decisions we made when coming up with the design of our Hab included using a dome shaped and using a plastic material sealed with duct tape to ensure an airtight living space. In multiple NASA 3D models and videos explored, our idea of using a dome shape is supported. NASA shows that many prototypes use a dome-shaped Hab because of its strong shape and structure; therefore, it can provide astronauts with an earth-like environment. When it came time to start negotiations, it was our goal to the secure materials that would allow us to create this quality Hab. We were successful in getting the materials we needed; pleasing foreign countries in our negotiations was key to obtaining these materials. Accepting the other nation’s terms, even if they were not ideal, was what allowed us to sign a contract with them prompting our success. The country of Iran was selling duct tape, our terms with them is a prime example of this. The contract states, “NC State logo on rocket, Labor during 1 full or 2 halves of STAR lunch, 15% of your profit, the rare resource of dark chocolate.” This contract was not the most simple and painless deal, but focusing on fulfilling the country’s interests and keeping them satisfied was imperative in getting what we wanted. Our group came up with a similar approach when contacting China, by doing this we were prosperous and got what materials we needed. The beach ball and duct tape we acquired along with the provided materials led us to assembling an overall good Hab.
